Circuit Construction

All components of the circuit were delivered and the construction fulfilling the electrical design of the wearable device was finished. As seen in the photos, the circuit for the wearable for one foot features 6 pressure sensors, along with the raspberry pi with a IMU and wireless connection capabilities.

A design problem encountered was that the pressure sensors required a negative voltage and the Raspberry Pi zero W used supports 3.3v and 5v. This was overcome by adding a voltage divider to the circuit. In addition, we required several resistors, capacitors and op-amps be added to circuit. All components were carefully tested during construction.

Now that the circuit has been constructed, we can gather data for testing our step detection algorithm. We will also use a PCP prototype boards instead of the bread board to organize wires so as the circuit is more compact and suitable for a wearable device.
